Mice

I use this public list to track what Perl-related tasks (mice) i want to do (eat). If you want to find out which mice are likely up next, click on the “Top” filter. The list is public for these reasons:

  1. I can never decide what to do first, so people voting on this might help.
Please vote on things you think i should do first! (Can be done anonymously!)
  2. So i can point people who end up going “Well volunteered!” at me to a place where they can write it down.
Feel free to add new things!
  3. Sometimes people might think some of the stuff i want to do is interesting, and do it themselves.
Let me know if you want to take a mouse for yourself!

In short: Feel free to volunteer me to eat mice!

  1. During installation of a module, CPAN.pm provides uninstalled dependencies by appending their build dirs to $ENV{PERL5LIB}. This does not scale, since %ENV can only keep so much data. As such, CPAN.pm needs to be rewritten to use File::Copy::Recursive to merge build dirs into a dep dir.

This will help make smoking more solid.

  2. What it does is: You point it at a github or fossil repo and it spits out this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10190786/simple.html

Git-Garden currently lives in my github: https://github.com/wchristian/git-garden

It languished a bit because i needed to wait for patches to Git-PurePerl to get on CPAN. Now i'm still waffling a bit about naming and other API details, i.e. should import/export modules be their own dists, should i use Module::Pluggable, etc.

  14. Act! seems to be the most decent conference system around, but sadly that is not saying much. Armed with my knowledge of the situation i can write a better installation manual than currently exists. Maybe even make it more error resilient, i.e. report when templates/translation files are missing.
